There are a TON of different blogging platforms that are out there - like blogger.com and wordpress.com (free) as well as hosting your own wordpress blog yourself (which takes a bit more work). The beauty of blogging is, it is very easy to create multiple micro-niche blogs on many different subjects - drive traffic, and monetize via adsense or a vast array of affiliate offers. The most successful method is creating a highly focused blog on a particular niche you are interested in (nobody wants to keep a blog alive on a subject you have no interest in), find affiliate products through clickbank or anyone of hundreds of other affiliate networks - be it linkshare, or amazon, or shareasale, or clickbank, or even CPA (cost per action) lead offers where you can make money just for people submitting their zip codes. I use Copeac, RevenueLoop and CPA Empire mostly, but again, there are hundreds.

I manage a ton of blogs using a single platform which makes it super easy to create, manage and most importantly - promote (ie, drive traffic to) your blogs. If you focus on ONE blog about something your're passionate about, you could very well become an authority website or portal about it and become the subject matter expert - the next thing you know, you have a lot of traffic, and the more traffic you have - the more chances of monetizing that traffic you have (just use perez hilton as an example - not the blonde - the professional entertainment blogger) or John Chow - they are subject matter experts and they have thousands if not hundreds of thousands of visitors to their blogs every day.

Check out my brief overview on the blogging platform I use here: http://www.ironmarketer.com/firepow.php

or soon to be released

Free services don't allow you to use video files.

If you’re going to start your blog at your own domain with different pages, you need a web host providing wordpress.
One of these services is reachable at: http://bluehost-service.atspace.com . Their service is really great and easy to use.

If you are going to start your own blog and post articles, pics and videos it sounds like you need your own web site. Are you wanting to generate an income from this idea? I need more information on what you are really trying to do to answer your question correctly.
